Aase Haugen nurses earn wound care certification

Aase Haugen Senior Services is pleased to announce that Alycia Burdick, LPN, and Leah Bremer, RN, have both earned Wound Certification by VOHRA Institute on Wound Care.  Both Burdick and Bremer serve the needs of residents at Aase Haugen as full-time nurses and now certified wound nurses as well. Their advanced skills focus on treatment options for healing acute and chronic wounds; including nutritional approaches, infection control and prevention, geriatric skin conditions, pressure ulcers, and prevention of hospitalization.

"Our partners who refer patients to Aase Haugen Senior Services can trust that our residents have access to high-quality wound care services," said Jeffrey K. Schmidt, administrator of Aase Haugen Senior Services.  According to the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, more people are living with a chronic wound than with breast, colon, lung cancers and leukaemia, combined. “We’re proud that we are so well positioned to provide the best wound care possible for our residents,” says Schmidt, “They can be sure they will be receiving the highest quality care, focused on developing specific plans to achieve healing results – giving them confidence that they are in the right hands at Aase Haugen.”
