Recently, Aase Haugen was blessed to receive a rocking chair donation from Kim Glock. This beautiful  antique is one of the rockers to come from the original Aase Haugen Home on the outskirts of town. When the original Aase Haugen Home closed, the property was sold and the new owners had an auction which sold broken furniture. Kim Glock purchased the rocker, refurbished and re-caned it, and then recently put it up for sale on Facebook marketplace. Wanda Askelson, Aase Haugen Board Secretary, inquired about the rocker and Kim decided to donate it back to us. It is planned to be installed in a historical area of the new building. Included here is a photo from the early 1900’s showing a woman enjoying a rocker on the porch of Aase Haugen and a group of people relaxing on the steps of the home. We can only  imagine the stories this rocker could tell about the front porch, the people, and that wonderful home in the country.
